Based on the WWII German Rheinmetall Pak36, the Soviet Union licensed-built or copied the basic Pak design in 45mm version as the M1937(53-k). Other than the upsized cannon, GAZ-A wire wheels and a vertical block, the Soviet M1939 is virtually identical to the German Pak.

A relatively large quantity did end up in Finland, like this one. It was used or kept in inventory until apparently the 1970s.

The 45 JVK 38 is popular with collectors and re-enactors as a substitute for the German Pak, which, if one can be found, is expensive. It is also easy to move and small enough to store or display in limited space.

We have the one available for sale that is displayed in the museum. It was imported some years ago directly from Finland. It has always been stored inside and is in nice original condition. The cannon is painted in the typical Finnish camo pattern for the 1960s and 70s and shows well. Additionally included is an original case for transporting 5 projectiles.     

 

​De-milled in accordance with  ATF import requirements with a typical torch cut hole in the barrel, barrel blocking bar, and torch cut breach.

This piece displays great in it's current condition or could be restored to the original Soviet configuration.
